Terry Runnels teaches drama and
vocal music at Pembroke Community Middle School. He received
his Music Education degree from Oklahoma City University and his
MFA in Theater from The University of Connecticut. He was an
assistant professor in the Drama School at Syracuse University
and a lecturer at The University of Connecticut. He has taught
music and drama at Harwich Middle School and Silver Lake Middle
School and has taught vocal music and drama at Pembroke
Community Middle School since the new building was opened in
2003.
He is a professional actor and
singer and has been featured on Broadway in ZORBA, starring
Anthony Quinn as well as the National Tour of ZORBA; The
National Tour of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, starring Marie Osmond; the
4th National Tour of ANNIE; and the 1992-93 National
Tour of ANNIE . He has performed in well over 100 different
plays, musicals, and operas.
He has done the role of Daddy
Warbucks in about 12 different productions. His most recent
production was in 2008 and featured Sally Struthers.
He conducted the SEMSBA festival
chorus in 2006, and as Drama Advisor at PCMS, has directed
productions of ONCE ON THIS ISLAND, OKLAHOMA, THE MUSIC MAN and
FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. The musical planned for 2009 is ANNIE,
Jr..
Besides teaching, Terry has sung
most of the major Oratorios with the Pilgrim Festival Chorus,
the Falmouth Chorus, and others across the country. He is the
bass soloist at The Church of the Pilgrimage, in Plymouth.
Terry has three very talented
kids.
